We, Mitsubishi Corporation Exploration Co., Ltd.(MCX) are playing a very important role in propulsion, management and administration of overseas oil and gas exploration, development and production projects (hereinafter referred to as E&P projects) that our parent company, Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) has interests. In addition to the above, We are also contributing technical support in upstream sectors connected with MC’s LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) business.

The areas of MCX’s operations are spread across the globe with the main regions being West Africa, Asia, US Gulf of Mexico, UK North Sea and Venezuela, etc. In Gabon and Angola of the West Africa, we have a long history around over from twenty (20) to thirty (30) years and these areas are one of our core activities. Recently, our E&P projects include: participating in Kangean Block of East Java, Indonesia, acquiring interests in the K2 Block in the US Gulf of Mexico and in the Dunlin Cluster oil fields in the UK North Sea; entering into capital tie-up with Indonesian major oil company, PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk and participating the development of Extra Heavy Oil in Venezuela. Looking ahead, we aim at many-sided deployment.
We also provide MC with a broad function strongly, not only a technical support but also an accounting support, under close cooperation including dispatch of our personnel for MC’s LNG business, which is developed on a global scale.
